ZHOU Zhonghe, a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and a researcher of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology. He is the President of the International Paleontological Society, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the deputy editor for geoscience of the National Science Review. At present, he is mainly engaged in the comprehensive study of early bird evolution, terrestrial stratigraphic paleontology and paleo-environmental. In 2010, he was elected as a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences (US). In 2011, he was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2015, he was elected as a member of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World and a corresponding member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He got his Ph.D. degree from the University of Kansas.
